‘Lepak di 蝙蝠 town’ means ‘Hang out at Bat town’ in English. A small town I called home, its name came from a Malay word meaning a kind of bats which once upon a time lived in this little quiet haven of mine. This painting is a collage of 蝙蝠 town where I relak, retreat, refill, recharge, repeat and replay. It is rendered in black and white with splashes of colour purposefully to suggest it is quite left behind by time though awakening in recent years.
