Masjid Sultan

About this postcard series, Masjid Sultan felt
For as long as Ignatius can remember, he would head to Kampong Glam every Ramadan. During this fasting month, a bazaar outside Masjid Sultan offers traditional Malay kuihs, tarts, cookies, pastries, desserts and all giving it a festive Hari Raya air that is simply beyond compare. In fact, whenever Ignatius has a craving for Malay food, he makes a beeline for this little charming old-world enclave.

At every turn and from every street, the presence of Masjid Sultan is felt; powerful and authoritative yet reassuring. Its two majestic golden-yellow domes and tall minarets towering the district, silently watch over Kampong Glam, and over him.
Without words, it speaks to him. And, with these paintings, Ignatius answers.
